Endeavour Awards Night 2024
Highly Commended in the category of outstanding commitment to sport and physical activity.
It is with great pleasure that I write this entry, as this award is the culmination of years of dedication from all the staff and all the pupils at Crawford Village.
As part of our application for the School Games Platinum Award, I had to submit a case study on an area of Physical Activity that we had developed throughout the year. This case study was based on offering 60 active minutes throughout the school day. This has involved lots of coordination from staff and pupils to be able to do this, but we have been successful in doing so. As our application was so strong and was verified by Chris Hart (WLSP School Games Manager) we were nominated for an award at the inaugural Endeavour Learning Trust Awards Night 2024.
Out of 71 schools that access their PE support through WLSP, we were won a high commendation and this is what Mark Forster - Director of Community & Partnerships at Endeavour Learning Trust and Director of West Lancashire Sports Partnership had to say about us.
'Tonight you have heard about our Fantastic family of schools that make up Endeavour Learning Trust, but this next award celebrates
our wider family of schools through the work of the West Lancashire Sport Partnership which is hosted by the Trust.
Working across a Network of 71 Primary, Secondary and Special Schools, the Sports Partnership works with colleagues to change the
lives of young people through the promotion, development and delivery of PE, School Sport and Physical Activity, inspiring the next
generation to be happy, healthy and active.
AND While there is some unbelievable practice taking place in so many Primary Schools across the West Lancashire area this award
tonight celebrates schools who have taken that extra step, made that further commitment and broken down barriers.
This school is highly commended in the category of outstanding commitment to sport and physical activity goes to a school who has shown outstanding dedication to promoting physical activity by ensuring that students achieve 60 active minutes per day through a well-rounded
curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities.
They have worked incredibly hard to empower both staff and pupils, and introduced initiatives like the Playground Champions to foster
leadership and inclusivity. Their commitment to pupil voice, sports clubs, movement breaks, and daily physical challenges like the
"Crawford Crawl" has created an active, healthy, and engaging environment for all. The highly commended award goes to a school
that has changed their school culture to ensure All young people are active every day.
Ladies and Gentleman – please put your hands together for Crawford Village Primary School.'
I am so proud of everything we do sports-wise at Crawford Village and this is such a massive achievement for our school.
