Debating the issue

Was the Big "Bad" Wolf actually the bad guy?  That was the question the children in Class 2 debated in UK Parliament Week.

After watching the story of the Three Little Pigs, some of the class thought that the Wolf was just misunderstood and had been wrongfully labelled as bad.  We discussed how important issues were debated in Paliament.  Various children led our own debate, confidently putting forward alternative reasons to find the Wolf either liable for trial or not.  The other children in class changed their minds multiple times as they were so convincing!  In the end, the party for "Bad Wolf" won the debate and the motion to send him to trial was carried.

The children also watched a video introducing them to the work and role of the UK Parliament, learning about the structure of Parliament and our democracy, making laws and elections and votings.
